To deal with the vent I originally removed the grate and picked up some flexible dryer hose from the hardware store to redirect the airflow. I soon found out that the space was tighter than I anticipated so I ended up building a ‘box’ to channel the airflow. Probably not the most aerodynamic solution but it seems to work!

Nice work! I would love to do something similar, but I am not sure what to do with the air vent. I see you had to contend with one too, how did you extend the air vent? Thanks

Thanks for the input.
I had the cushion custom made as I couldn’t find anything the right size.
The foam is from Foamite, the fabric from Designer Fabrics and the work from Soft Options Upholstery.
I would have sewed it myself, but was having other stuff upholstered at the time and figured I might as well get this done too!
